The Yayasan - an overview

Yayasan Goodwill International is a registered Indonesian charity. Its mission is to provide financial assistance, training, care, resources and advice to young Indonesians.

We give multi-year scholarships to many of the brightest and most needy future leaders each year. Students are selected from  2 of Indonesia’s leading public universities; the University of Indonesia (UI) and Bogor Agricultural University (IPB).

The scholarship program gives them a  chance to lead and serve. and to
  - improve their life prospects,
  - empower themselves to fulfil their true potential,
  - get the best training and/or education possible,
  - maintain good health and nutrition,
  - establish personal and business values and ethics,
  - find a good job or a rewarding vocation after graduation

Over the past eleven years, 600 bright and needy students have been awarded leadership development scholarships, gaining degrees in disciplines as diverse as Agriculture, Arabic Studies, Biology, Business & Economics, Communications, Computer Science, Dutch Studies, Engineering, Fisheries & Marine Sciences, Forestry, History, Law, Physics, Political & Social Sciences, Psychology and Public Health; this includes the 34 students who have completed their residencies in Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine.

Sadly, in June 2010 we suffered the tragic loss of our Chariman Mrs Mizue Hara, and her husband Mr Yasuo "Pepe" Hara.  We were very fortunate to have Mrs Julie Marsaban act as our interim Chairperson and Mrs Mien Wibowo will take the Chair at Yayasan Goodwill events. Read More
